James Browning, 86, who had resided at Sturgeon since 1873, died Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Schlaich, in Oakdale after a week's illness. Mr. Browning was born at Larkhall, Lanarkshire, Scotland, Nov. 25, 1851, and came to the United States in 1873, making his home at Sturgeon. He was a mine employee until his retirement 20 years ago. On December 15, 1875, he married Elizabeth Walker of Sturgeon. Mrs. Browning died September 6, 1934. Surviving are the following sons and daughters; James, of Oak Creek, Colo.; Mrs. William Schlaich, Oakdale; Mrs. John Kelly, Noblestown; Guy, of Southview; Robert, of Hopedale, O.; Alexander, of Steubenville, O.; George, of Sturgeon; Mrs. Sarah Chastain, Dennison, O.; and Mrs. R. F. Leroy, North Bessemer. Funeral services will be held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Schlaich, in Oakdale, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be in Robinson Run Cemetery.
