Winchester - Thomas Barden, 71, husband of Mrs. Mary Barden of this town, died early Sunday morning at the Elliot Community ospital following an emergency operation.
He was born in Ste. Agathe, Quebec, Canada Oct 9, 1876, son of Thomas and Margaret Barden.
He had been a resident of the United States for 52 years, formerly working at Mr. Tom, Massachusetts. he came to Winchester 32 years ago where he was employed by the New England Box company.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus church, Winchester and the Ashuelot-Winchester Catholic club.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary F. Barden, two sons, Francis T., commander of the VFW post, and Robert, all of Winchester, and three grandchildren; four brothers, Michael of Dorchester, Massachusetts, James of Waltham, Massachusetts, Patrick of Littleton, New Hampshire, and John of Thetford Mines, Canada; and one sister, Mrs. Harrison Lang of Milan. A son Raymond died in 1940.
Funeral services will be held at St. Stanislaus church, Winchester, Wednesday morning.
Burial wll be in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the O'connor funeral home.
