Dorothy L. (Rutan) Collier, 90, Martinsville, passed away at 7:33 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
She was born on Monday, December 25, 1922 in Martinsville, Indiana to the late Layton and Cora (Curtis) Rutan.
Dorothy was a line operator at Esterline-Angus, Inc. in Indianapolis and retired in 1978. Her passion and hobby was quilting for family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Lana Myers of Martinsville; son, Larry Collier and wife Sue of Geneva, Illinois; grandchildren, Laura Collier, Alex Collier and Jason Rynard; great grandchildren, Mia Collier and Samantha Rynard.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester E. Collier, whom she married on April 23, 1939 and he passed away on May 6, 1990; brothers, Earl Rutan and Loren Rutan; sisters, Gayle Kent and Mary Carter.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Costin Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Mike Mercer officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service.
Entombment will be at Nebo Memorial Park.
