Jeff was shot while he and his friends were hunting in the foothills of Ogden, near 4120 Harrison Blvd., on Thursday December 30, 1965. He was rushed to the Emergency Room of the Thomas D. Dee Memorial Hospital at 24th and Harrison Blvd, where he underwent emergency surgery. He had been shot in the back when one of the boys accompaning him stumble discharging a shotgun blast that penetraited into his abdonmen.
