Our kind and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, Marjorie Ann Glade Dalgleish passed away peacefully on 29 April 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on 5 January 1929 to William Lester and Lucy Lucile Glade in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Marjorie attended East High School and graduated from the University of Utah. She taught school in the Salt Lake City School District for many years. A gifted violinist she played for the Westminster Orchestra and Bonneville Strings. She was also a very gifted artist where she sculpted and painted in both oils and watercolors. She co-owned an art and craft ceramic store with her brother and sister, Glade Specialties.
Marjorie married Hyrum Dalgleish in the Salt Lake Temple on 11 August 1954. They had four children: Vickie (Kent) Sponbeck, Tamy (Ron) Glasgow, Scott (RaNae) Dalgleish and Paul (Lisa) Dalgleish. She enjoyed her family and loved being around her 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Robert (Loa Don) Glade and many nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was a faithful member of the LDS Church who loved the Savior. She was a member of the Garden Park Ward where she served in many capacities in both the Primary and the Relief Society organizations. She and her husband served as missionaries in the California Ventura Mission. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and the Alpha Dorian Fine Arts Club. She was a true Jazz fan and never missed watching their games.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, husband (Hyrum), sister (Beverly Wessman) and grandson (Kent Jr.)
Marjorie was truly an Elect Lady and leaves a wonderful legacy for her family to follow! She was always positive and never complained. We love her and will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be held at the Garden Park Ward, 1150 East Yale Ave. (1045 So.) on Friday, 3 May 2013 at 12:00 Noon. A viewing will be held at the Ward on Friday immediately prior to the services from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
