John Lewis Bevill, age 90 of Nashville, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in Nashville.

John Lewis Bevill, 90, of Nashville, Tenn., and formerly of Fort Smith, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

Mr. Bevill was a highly decorated veteran of World War II, landing in Normandy. He was awarded the EAME Theater Ribbon, two bronze service stars, World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and a Bronze Star.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ivey Justine Bevill; parents, Walter Henry Bevill and Ada Davis Bevill; sisters, Christine McGuire and Mary Hocking; brother, Albert Bevill; and mother-in-law, Ivey Lou Fuller.

He is survived by daughters, Paula Bevill of Fort Smith and Cheryl Bevill of Nashville; special nephew, Frank "Rusty" McCrady; numerous nephews and nieces; grandnephews and grandnieces; and best friends, Terry and Julie Oldham.

Service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith.

Arrangements are entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery in Nashville.
