LaVerne was the second of 5 children and 1st daughter of her parents. She married the love of her life, John Curlee, and they were married for over 50 years before his death. They raised a daughter and two sons. She was the last surviving of her siblings and left her loving children, 5 grandchildren (pre-deceased by one grandson), many great grandchildren and other family members upon her passing. She and John spent their retirement years in Lake Havasu City, AZ along with best friends, siblings Richard and Dorothy (Curlee) Gillespie. Richard was LaVerne's brother and Dorothy was John's sister.
