Milicent/Millissent/Melicent Sears was born to Freeman and Mehitable (Haskell) Sears and was the 5th Great-Granddaughter of Elder William Brewster, Mayflower passenger and signer of the Mayflower Compact. She married David Blackmer of Pelham 1 December 1785 Greenwich, Hampshire, Massachusetts.

The children of David and Millisent Blackmer were Augustus Blackmer, David Blackmer (1803-1888), and Satina Blackmer Flitcroft (1806-1875) Their three children were baptized October, 1806 in the Church of Christ, Greenwich.

After the death of David Blackmer, Milicent married second Rufus Field 27 June 1816 in Greenwich, Hampshire, Massachusetts. She died on 6 March 1853 in Erving, Franklin County, Massachusetts and was buried in Erving. In the mid-1850s both her son David and daughter Satina, along with their families, moved to Michigan.
