Herbert I. Bushong, 81
CLINTON—Mr. Herbert Isaac Bushong, 81, of 1020 Edmond Matthis Road, died at his home, Tuesday, April 22, 2008.
Funeral services will be held tonight at 7 p. m. at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dewey Ball and the Rev. Dave Page officiating. A graveside service will be held Friday morning at 11 a. m. at Spell-Tyndall Cemetery. Born in 1926 in Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Bushong was the son of the late William Adrian and Mary Helen Booth Bushong. He was a member of the Garland Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and a retired machinist with Timken Roller Bearing Company. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Emma Saunier Bushong; four daughters, Judy Dean of Canal Fulton, Ohio, Susan Mefford of Westover, West Virginia, Isabelle Barnette of Clinton, Jennifer Hayes of Dayton, Ohio; five sons, Jerry Turner, a step son, of Cadis, Ohio, Herbert Junior Bushong of Sutherland, Virginia, Melvin Arthur "Archie" Bushong of Cambridge, Ohio, Russell A. Bushong of Middleburn, West Virginia and William "Bill" Bushong of Clinton. Twenty-seven grandchildren, Thirty-nine great-grandchildren, Three great-great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Locke and Helen I. Bushong and two brothers, Gus Bushong and George Edward Bushong. The family will receive friends tonight immediately following funeral services at the funeral home and other times at the home of his daughter, Isabelle Barnette, 307 Old Mill Branch Lane, Clinton, N.C.
