Carolyn L. "Toots" Sperry, 89, formerly of Springs, died Jan. 21, 2002 at Beverly Healthcare, Meyersdale. Born Oct. 2, 1912 in Elk Lick Township, daughter of the late Abraham G. and Elizabeth (Moran) Livengood. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Sperry, May 15, 1985; and two sisters, Augusta Sperry and Phyllis Ryan. Survived by two daughters, Maryjane Robertson and husband, Don, Springs; and Carolyn "Joni" Hollada and husband, Dick, Salisbury; and three grandchildren: Jessica Robertson, Gettysburg; Geoffrey Robertson, Salisbury; and Kelli Hollada, State College. Mrs. Sperry attended Salisbury Church of the Brethren and was a retired seamstress for Salisbury Undergarment Factory. She was also an "Avon Lady." Visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Newman Funeral Home Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Highway, Salisbury, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. David E. Fetter officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Somerset County Humane Society.
