Doris Henry, 83, formerly of East Stroudsburg, died Sunday evening, September 25, at her daughter's home in Dalton. She was the widow of George C. Henry who died March 3, 2002.
Born on February 19, 1928 in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Friend and Daisy (Lambert) Akers and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County until moving to Dalton two years ago to live with her daughter.
She used to work at Olympic Reconditioning and was a member of the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Judith A. Phelps and her husband Ron of Dalton; two granddaughters, Kristie Pietruszynski and her husband Chris of Wernersville and Tara Phelps of Dalton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Gladys Decker, Harold Akers, Bertha Quick, Florence Wait and D. Catherine Fish.
Burial in Delaware Water Gap Cemetery.
