Isaac Rorabaugh was born on March 5, 1843 at Delphi, Carroll county, Indiana.
At about the age of six years he came to Columbia county, Wisconsin with his parents. He grew to manhood there. On September 14, 1865 he was married to Lovina Luther. To this union ten children were born, five of whom survive: L. G. Rorabaugh, of Bellaire, Mrs. Hattie Allen, of Williamsburg, Kan., Arthur and Elbert, of Norton county, Kansas, and Earl at the home place.
On November 5, 1876 he came to Kansas with his family and his friend, Mr. James Branton and his family, driving the distance over land.
He was a pioneer of Smith county, living on the farm he homesteaded in Cora township for forty-five years.
On October 3, 1910, his wife died. On December 22, 1912, he was married to Mrs. Katherine Ayers, of Wetmore, Kansas, who survives him. He was a good father and neighbor and during his last illness, expressed his faith in God, and was ready and willing to go to his rest. He passed away at eight o'clock, Sunday morning, October 23, 1921, at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 18 days.
