"The Troy Times, Troy, NY, Tuesday Evening, Mary 29, 1928

May 29, 1928, Mary E. Fonda,
mother of Mrs. Mary E. Bulson,
Mrs. (Pearl I) William H. Fonda and Charles
Colehamer; sister of Mrs. Jonah
McChesney and Garrett Ives.

Garrett Ives Thursday afternoon at

Note: 1st husband, James Colehamer
2nd husband, Cornelius Sanford Fonda (William H. Fonda's father), the above Mrs. William H. Fonda's step-father. My first clue to this relationship was 1910 census when she was listed as step-mother-in-law to William H. Fonda. Then she was listed in probate for Cornelius S. Fonda in 1907 as Mary E. Fonda but Cornelius' wife Mary E. Beebe had died in 1897.

"Mrs. Mary E. Fonda, a lifelong resident of Poestenkill, died this morning at her home there. Mrs. Fonda was born in Poestenkill 79 years ago and she was the daughter of the late Garrett Ives. She was a nurse by profession. The survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Mary E. Bulson of Poestenkill and Mrs. William Fonda of Newark. N. J.; a son, Charles G. Colehamer of Newark; a sister, Mrs. Jonah McChesney, and a brother, Garrett Ives, both of Poestenkill. The funeral will be Thursday afternoon from the residence and Rev. E. A. Ottman will officiate. Interment will be at Eagle Mills. Troy NY Times, Tuesday, May 29, 1928."
