Lovic Pierce Peurifoy was the infant son of Rev. Tillman Dixon and Louisa Byrd Peurifoy. He was named for Rev. Lovic Pierce, a colleuage of his father and the District Superintendent of the South Carolina District of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Lovic Pierce died in an Indian attack on the family home while his father was away.
