The Rev. John J. Foley, 35, Chicago-born priest and chaplain at St. Mary's hospital, Decatur, Macon county, for more than two years, died yesterday in the hospital. He was a son of John and Bridget Foley, 8044 S. Throop st., and attended Quigley seminary. Father Foley formerly was pastor at Effingham, Effingham county. He also is survived by a sister, Sister Mary Ambrosine, R. S. M., and a brother, James J. A solemn requiem mass will be solemnized at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Sabina's church, where the body will lie in state from noon Thursday. Bishop James A. Griffin of Springfield will offer a solemn requiem mass for Father Foley in St. James church, Decatur, at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow.
