William F. Reese , a resident of Ada and community the past 20 years passed away at the Ada hospital after a short illness at the age of 68. Mr. Reese was taken ill last week and had been a patient at the hospital for 3 days. He came to Ada about 20 years ago and was employed for a number of years on farms in this vicinity. For the past few years he made his home in Ada, where he was employed by the late Dr. Quirk, the veterinarian. He never married. His body was shipped to Goodhue, MN where services are being conducted in the Grace Lutheran Church.
- Obituary from an Ada newspaper
Bill came from Norman County to visit his Goodhue County kin on a more or less annual basis, by walking, by hopping trains, and by horse back. He was hunchbacked to a degree. I was told he worked sometimes for a veterinarian in Ada, and that the vet would lend him a horse to go part way on the trip. Where the horse was left until he came back for it, I do not know. He never came to our house on a horse. He was always walking then.
