Otha John Acre was born December 8, 1910 in Canton, Oklahoma (Blaine County), son of John Thomas Acre (1861-1952) and Sarah Ella Morrison (1869-1948).

Otha had nine older siblings: Rufus R. Acre (1887-1941); James Sherman Acre (1889-1987); Robert Acre (1892-1892); Charles Morrison Acre (1894-1964); Isol Mildred Acre (1895-1962); Ray Acre (1898-1905); Agnes Acre (1900-1985); Nell Maude Acre (1905-1993); and Bon E. Acre (1906-1995).

The 1920 Federal Census for Canton, Oklahoma (Blaine County) shows Otha J. Acre, age 9, born in Oklahoma; living with his father, John T. Acre, a farmer, age 58, born in Indiana; and his mother, Ella, age 50, born in Indiana. Also living in the household were Otha's siblings: Agnes Acre, age 19; Nellie Acre, age 14; and Bon E. Acre, age 13; all born in Oklahoma.

The 1930 Federal Census for Canton, Oklahoma (Blaine County) shows Otha J. Acre, age 19, born in Oklahoma; living with his father, John T. Acre, a farmer, age 68, born in Indiana; and his mother, Ella, age 58, born in Indiana. Also living in the household was Otha's sibling, Bon E. Acre, age 22, born in Oklahoma.

On October 31, 1942 in Sayre, Oklahoma (Beckham County), Otha married Iona Edith Gard, who was born February 13, 1906. Iona died January 21, 1952 in Oklahoma and was buried in the Eagle City Cemetery in Eagle City, Oklahoma (Blaine County).

Otha died December 25, 1995, in Canton and was buried in Eagle City Cemetery beside his wife.
