Thelma Pearl Turpen, 91, died Wednesday at Rosewood Health Center, Independence, MO.
Mrs. Turpen was born March 1, 1909, in Lincoln, NE. She was a violinist, a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was active in the RLDS Central Congregation in Council Bluffs, Iowa, as a church secretary, recorder, priest and violinist. She moved to the Groves in Independence in 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Wayne Turpen. Her survivors include three daughters, Thelma RogeneTemplin, Napa, CA, Julia Ann Conway, Independence, and Patricia Louse Wiese, New Hope, MN; twelve grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Jan.13, 2001, in the Community Chapel at The Groves. Arrangements under the direction of Speaks Suburban Chapel.
