Services are noon Saturday, April 27, 2013, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. to service time at the church.

Carroll W. Dant, 74, of Calhoun, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 at his home. He was born November 21, 1938 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Joseph Ernest and Ruby Sutton Dant. He was a carpenter and a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He enjoyed farming, working with cattle and horses, playing Pedro and dominos and reminiscing about the "Good Ole Days". Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sue Dant (2003), a brother, J.W. Dant and two sisters, Myrtle Thompson and Ella Farmer. Surviving are his children, Carroll W. (Rhonda) Dant, Jr. of Owensboro, Benita (David) Whittaker of Calhoun, Ray (Lisa) Dant of Clovis, New Mexico, Eva (Guy) Floyd of San Antonio, Texas, Lisa Evans of Bowling Green, Bernard J. "BJ" (Nicole) Dant of Livonia, Michigan, Jason Allen Dant of Owensboro, 11 grandchildren, Derek Dant, Trevor Dant, Evan Dant, Travis Whittaker, Angela Whittaker, Jordan Romero, Chelsea Dant, Colton Dant, Guy Floyd III, Caylin Sue Dant, Bryce Dant, 5 great grandchildren, Faith Dant, Logan Dant, Kayddon Whittaker, Noah Troutman, Naliyah Dant, siblings, L.V. (Lois), Marvin Dant, Patty Payne, all of Calhoun and nieces and nephews. Services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with Father Ray Goetz officiating and burial to follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Prayers said 6:30 p.m. Friday.
