Mrs. George M. Roberts, who had been ill for several months, passsed away at her home in Cowgill, Wednesday evening of last week. She was 76 years old, and had been in very poor health for several years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by five children: Henry and Billie Roberts, of Polo; Mrs. Florence McCubbin, of Kansas City; and Mrs. Clara Orr and Mrs. Leslie Frazier, of Cowgill. Thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral was held at the Cowgill M.E. Church Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, the services being conducted by the pastor, Rev. R.S. Tomlin. Burial was in the Cowgill cemetery.

OBITUARY OF MRS. GEORGE M. ROBERTS
Sarah Frances Newton was born in Caldwell County, near Polo, Mo. April 29, 1856, and passed away January 4, 1933. She was the oldest of a family of six children. Her father and mother, Hammer and Ellen Newton and a brother Jeff, passed away many years ago.
On January 18, 1874 she was married to George Marion Roberts, and to this union seven children were born, two of them dying in infancy.
When young in life she was converted and joined the Methodist church at Polo. She has made her home in Cowgill for 36 years, and placed her membership in the Methodist church there.
She is survived by her husband, George M. Roberts, five children, Henry and Billie Roberts of Polo, Mrs. Lela Frazier and Mrs. Clara Orr of Cowgill, and Mrs. Florence McCubbin of Kansas City, three brother, Albert of Cowgill, Joseph of California, and Thomas of Nevada, Mo., 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also a host of friends join her relatives to mourn her going away.
The funeral service was held at the Methodist church in Cowgill, by the pastor, Rev. Ray S. Tomlin. Interment was at the Cowgill cemetery.
