Funeral rites for Mrs. Lillie V. Askenburg, 58, of 611 8th St. SE, are to be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Salvation Army Chapel with Lt. Wesley Mott officiating.
Burial is to follow in City cemetery with Brown Funeral Co. directing. Pallbearers are to be Joe Dean, Ples Graham, Lawrence saylor, B.L. Ryan, Leldon Crowe, and Earl Britnell.
Survivors include the husband, Alfred L. Askenburg; three daughters, Mrs. Rosa Mae McCutcheon, Decatur; Mrs. Edna Faye Walker, Moulton; and Miss Barbara Ray Askenburg, Decatur; two sons, Alfred L. Jr, of Decatur and Donald of New Orleans; two sisters, Mrs. Desser Lenz, Decatur; and Mrs. Ruth King of Vero Beach, Fla; two brothers, William Langley and Thomas E. Langley, both of Decatur; and mother, Mrs. Carrie Langley, Decatur.
Mrs. Askenburg died unexpectedly Thursday morning at 9:30 after suffering an apparent heart attack at her home.
