Services will be held at 11 This Morning

Mrs. Mary Belle Griffin, former resident of Tiptonville, Tenn., and member of the family for which the city was named, died at 4:30 yesterday morning in a Memphis Nursing Home. She was 87.

Services will be at 11 this morning at National Funeral Home with Dr. W. C. Newman officiating. Burial will be at Gardner, Tenn.

Mrs. Griffin, the former Miss Mary Bell Tipton, had lived in Memphis since 1953 with her daughter, Mrs. H. S. Singleton of 3563 Watauga. She was the widow of Fred J. Caldwell, Tiptonville attorney, and later of Dr. R. W. Griffin, Tiptonville physician who died in 1953.

Mrs. Griffin was a Methodist, a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union and formerly was active in the Order of the Eastern Star. She also leaves a son, W. T. Caldwell of Greenwich, Conn.
