Funeral Services Are Held For Mrs. Cleo Bates
Funeral services were held at Bazette Baptist Church Saturday, June 2, 1945, at 2 pm for Mrs. Cleo Bates, age 25, who died at P & S Hospital in Corsicana Thursday, May 31, 1945. Rev. Fletcher conducted the services and burial was at the Bazette Baptist Cemetery.
Mrs. Bates was born June 19, 1919. Well know here, the daughter of Guy S. [St. Clair] and Eunice Deskin Lancaster, she was united in marriage to Richard [Hubbard] Bates on June 1, 1935. To this union two children were born – Carrie Jane, 8 and Martha Jean, 6. Her husband preceded her in death March 28, 1941.
Surviving her in addition to her two children and parents, are her grandparents, Andrew and Lena Winters Deskin., a brother Glynn [Guy] Lancaster of the Navy, stationed at Pierce, FL. and other relatives and friends.
