Services for Leonard C. Carpenter, 84, of Skiatook were Jan. 9, 1988 in the Chapel of Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Dunson of Turley officiating.

Burial was in the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Powell Funeral Home of Hominy.

Carpenter died Jan. 6 at Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital in Tulsa.

He was born Dec. 19, 1903 at White Oak to Ben and Mary Carpenter. He was reared and attended school in the area. Carpenter married Elsie L. Lewis on Jan. 5, 1924 in Claremore. She preceeded him in death June 30, 1975.

On Jan. 4, 1977 he was united in marriage to Georgia Wofford. He had been a resident of Skiatook since 1970. He was a member of the Native American Church.

Leonard is buried next to his first wife, Elsie, she is in space 2north.
