Funeral services for Martin T. Honza of Erin Township were held on Oct. 21, at the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer in Montgomery with the Rev. Bernard Blaser officiating. Interment was made in the Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Edward Shetka, Reuben, Harvey and Duane Honza, George Mucha and John David. Martin T. Honza, son of James and Mary Kukacka Honza was born on Nov. 11, 1882 in Heidelberg. He attended rural schools. On May 9, 1911 he was united in marriage to Nettie Kubes at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague, where they made their home until 1931, when they moved to Montgomery. He was employed with the highway department for four years and then moved to a farm in Shieldsville Township for one year. They then moved to a farm in Erin Township where they have since resided. Mr. Honza, who passed away at the Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague at the age of 85, is survived by one son, Raymond of Erin Township; one granddaughter, Teresa Honza; two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Anna) Shetka and Mrs. John (Catherine) Shetka and by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister, Mrs. John (Mary) David; and four brothers, Frank, Joe, James and Rudy Honza.
