On 18 Dec 1867 Epemanonidas "Pem" Jarvis married Cynthia Lanham Baron, a widow a little older than he with three children aged 6-9. (Her first husband was Ezekiel Barron.) Pem and Cynthia are on the 1870 census in Troup, Smith Co, with these three children and a 2 year old of their own. By 1880, they are shown with only 2 Jarvis daughters. In Jan 1893, Pem moved his family from the farm in Smith Co to Hubbard and engaged in the hardware & implement business until 1903 when he retired. In 1905, he went into banking. He was elected Vice-President of the Farmer's National Bank of Hubbard City and in 1907, he was elected President of this bank. Pem died on 13 Sep 1919 in Hubbard, Hill Co, TX. His headstone may be seen on Find A Grave Memorial #10913145. This is a double headstone with his wife Cynthia who had died on 6 Jul 1912. They are both buried in the Ebenezer Cemetery at Arp with lots of other Jarvis's. See Cynthia's obit below:
