Henry Burch enlisted as a Private in Company G of the Reorganized Fourth Michigan Infantry on October 13, 1864, for 3 years service, at age 21. He mustered out of service on May 26, 1866, at Houston, Texas.

Henry was the son of Jacob O. Burch and Catherine Palmenter.
He married Louisa Conarow, age 25, on July 22, 1866, in Rich, Lapeer County, Michigan.
