Angela Jenny (Gosar) Bakas, of Stoughton


Angela Jenny (Gosar) Bakas, 85, a longtime resident of Stoughton, passed away Friday, April 19 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She was born September 24, 1927 in Rock Springs, WY to Slovenian immigrant parents Joseph Gosar and Antonia (Ravnihar) Gosar. Angela attended grade school through high school in Rock Springs. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Following graduation she embarked on a forty-year teaching career. Her first three jobs were in Rawlins, WY; then in Ouray, CO and in Englewood, CO. She spent the next several years teaching for the U.S. Air Force Dependent Schools in Japan, Germany, Spain and Turkey. Upon her return to the U.S. she taught in Torrington, CT, Brookline, MA and Stoughton, MA. Angela cherished the years she spent working with children and with her colleagues and friends.

Angela married Constantine "Charlie" Bakas in 1964. They resided in Stoughton. Charlie died in 1979. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother, "Joey" Gosar. She is survived by her sister, Mary Killian of Rock Springs, WY and three brothers, John Gosar and his wife Maxine of Green River, WY, Tony Gosar and his wife Bernie of Pinedale, WY and Jack Gosar and his wife Betty of Casper, WY, and her sister-in-law, Olga Gosar of Green River, WY. She is also survived by 10 nieces and 12 nephews.

What Angela enjoyed the most in life was her family. She also loved to travel, read, play games, do crossword puzzles and visit casinos. Her concern for the well being of people, especially children, was evident in her charity work. She will be remembered for her love of life and for her generous heart.

ARRANGEMENTS:
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, April 26 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-7 PM.

Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to friends, health care providers, Farley Funeral Home and everyone who has shown so much support during this difficult time. We thank God for the gift of her life and the blessing of the time we spent with her. Donations in Angela's memory may be sent to charities of your choice.
