Myrtle was a 1945 graduate of Warriors Mark-Franklin High School. Early in life she had worked at Paul’s Diner and Big Yank Corporation in Tyrone, and retired from Murata-Erie in State College in 1988.
She is survived by one son, William R. (Virginia) Harpster, and two daughters, Eileen K. (Michael) Swales and Connie L. Moore, all of Warriors Mark. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Christy (Donald) Gampe, Jeffrey (Serenity) Harpster, Cheri McConnell, Jaime (Jason) Richard, Russell (Kristen) Moore, Randall Moore, and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Denny Moore, four brothers (Ellsworth, Ralph, Victor, and “Bill”) and three sisters (Thelma Gill, Roberta Cupp, and Marguerite Detwiler). She was the last of her immediate family.
Myrtle was a member of Gatesburg Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crafts and was well known for her excellent crochet work.
A memorial service will be held for immediate family only due to Covid-19 restrictions, with Rev. Susan Williamson presiding. Burial will be at Gatesburg Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bruce E. Cox Funeral Home of Warriors Mark.
