Isabel M. (German) Svoboda Mausbach, of Norfolk, Nebraska formerly of St. Edward, Nebraska, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013, at Faith Regional Health Services, Norfolk, Nebraska. Isabel was born on February 7, 1918, on the family farm near Humphrey, Nebraska the daughter of Leo John and Anna Angela(Hamling) German.

Isabel was raised on the farm and attended rural school. On January 9, 1937 Isabel married Adolph C. Svoboda at holy Angels Catholic Church, Omaha, Nebraska. They made their home in Leigh, Nebraska before they moved to Clarkson, Nebraska. They moved to Norfolk in 1942. Adolph died on October 31, 1964.

Isabel was employed by several families in Norfolk, Nebraska. Later, she was employed, as a cook, by the Lazy L Cafeteria, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and the Norfolk Golden Living all of Norfolk, Nebraska.

On May 9, 1977 Isabel married Francis Mausbach in Omaha, Nebraska. They made their home in St. Edward, Nebraska. She was always active in her church and community. She was employed at Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward, Nebraska for 10 years. Francis died April 14, 1991.

Isabel enjoyed working in the CCD program, Leading the Rosary before mass, American Legion Aux., Calling bingo at the Senior Center, and delivering meals-on-wheels. Her love for sports found her following her grandsons to many games, and cheering on those Huskers. She could be found most days taking a long walk around St. Edward, Nebraska.

Isabel spent many important hours with her family vacationing, sharing celebrations, and just being a wonderful influence in all our lives.

Isabel is survived by: sons, Charles and Maxine Svoboda, of Norfolk, Nebraska and Gary and Margaret Svoboda of Norfolk, Nebraska; step children and their spouses, Charlene and Gene Shively, Jolene Fitchner, and Darlene and Kent Cruise, all of St. Edward, Nebraska; 18 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.

Isabel was preceded in death by: two husbands, daughter, Janice Wagner; parents; brother, William German; sisters, Irene Kosch and Ethal Mausbach and step granddaughter Chantel Flowers.

Burial was in The Prospect Hill Cemetery, Norfolk, Nebraska.
