Funeral services were held for Ila Arlene Hansen at the Myers Funeral Home in Glenwood Friday afternoon, March 15. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hansen, who reside seven miles southeast of Glenwood. She was born December 17, 1928 and death came March 13,1940 at the family home where she had resided all her life. She had been in ill health for some time and death followed several weeks of rheumatic fever.
She is survived by her parents, one sister, Elma and one brother Lyle, her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Henry H. Pein, and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as a host of friends.
The funeral service was conducted by Rev. O. C. Bierman, pastor of the Mineola Lutheran Church. Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Neal Bonner, who rendered "Just Inside the Eastern Gate" and "The City Four Square." Mr. Bonner rendered her favorite song, "I'll Be a Sunbeam for Jesus."
Those in charge of the floral offerings were Virginia Ulm, Ila May Delevan, Emta Delevan, and Pauline Swinney. Pall bearers were two cousins, and four school friends, Lloyd Gaylord, Avon Bonner, George Gravvett, and Lee Swinney.
The body was laid to rest in the Glenwood Cemetery.
Those attending the services from a distance were Mrs. Glen Mannion of Omaha, Nebraska, Mrs. I. Hansen, Emil Hansen, and Pete Hansen and son Herman of Coleridge, Nebraska.
