Mrs. Sylvia L. (Laurenzi) Cherundolo, age 89 of Wilmington, DE passed away Wednesday evening, July 21, 2004, at her son's home in Glen Rock, PA. Mrs. Cherundolo was born in Old Forge, PA on September 18, 1914, daughter of the late Aldibrando and Louisa (Micheli) Laurenzi. She was employed with Architectural Hardware as the office manager for 30 years, retiring in 1980. She was a longtime member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish and the BVM Sodality. A generous and giving person, Mrs. Cherundolo volunteered for many years at the parish's monthly spaghetti dinners and the annual Italian Festival. She also gave many hours of her time volunteering at the annual McDonald's LPGA tour and for the Capuchin Poor Clare Sisters in Wilmington. She also attended St. Mary Magdalen Church in later years. Her husband, William J. Cherundolo, passed away on May 12, 1956. Mrs. Cherundolo is survived by her sons, William and his wife, Pam of Glen Rock, PA and James and his wife, Jan of Indianapolis, IN; and her grandchildren, James and Maria Cherundolo. She was also predeceased by her siblings, John, Pompey and Julia Laurenzi, Pauline Paulino and Mary Rinaldi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th & DuPont Sts. on Saturday morning, July 24, at 10:30. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the CHARLES P. ARCARO FUNERAL HOME, 2309 Lancaster Ave. (opp. Cathedral Cem.) this evening, July 23, from 7-9 pm and Saturday morning from 9-10. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mrs. Cherundolo's memory to the Oblates of St. Francis DeSales, 2220 Kentmere Parkway, Wilmington, DE 19806; or to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 901 N.
