James Wykoff, 81, a former resident of Madison and a retired ship carpenter, died this morning at Mt. Vernon, Ill., where he lived with his daughter, Mrs. Rusell Garr. His wife, Mrs. Laura Collins Wykoff, is deceased.

Mr. Wykoff was a brother of the late Rev. W. O. Wykoff and the late Mrs. Thomas Baum of this city. His only survivors in addition to his daughter are a grandchild, great-grandchild and nieces and nephews.

The remains will arrive Sunday at the Vail Memorial funeral home. Services will be held at the memorial Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock and burial will be in Springdale cemetery.
