He was born July 5, 1913 in Richland, the son of Ida (Finnell) and John Henry Cooley. He received his education in Hunters. In the early 1940's the Cooley family moved to Grandview, where they owned and operated a dairy farm. They later operated dairies in Mabton and Prosser. Following the sale of the dairy farms, he went to work for 20 years at the Washington State Dairy Association until his retirement.
He is survived by his sister, Lillian Crawford of Everett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Sheffield Manor, 125 N. Wamba Rd., Prosser. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
