On November 28, 1916 Robert married Meda Mae Bailey in Miller County, Arkansas. Sadly, Meda died in 1918 at the age of 22.
Robert then married Regina Frances Crow in Bowie County, Texas on February 2, 1919. They had a daughter, Margaret Lorraine. In August 1924 Regina died due to complications of childbirth and her second child was stillborn.
Robert married for a third time in 1925 to Evelyn Ruth Phillips. This marriage ended in divorce in 1951.
Robert was a minister, ordained by the General Council of Assemblies of God Churches on July 13, 1936.
Robert died of stomach cancer on December 16, 1969. He was cared for by his daughter during his illness.
