Bob and wife Evelyn lived in Roseburg, Oregon where he worked at Roseburg Forest Products in the power house. He operated the steam boilers that powered the mill for many years.
He was very active in the "John Burch Society", served as Chapter President and sent his children to the society's summer camps. He was a patriot and great believer in what the society stood for.
He strongly supported family and cherished his heritage as a Faas.
He was personally involved and witnessed much of the events that occurred at the "Ruby Ridge" incident in Montana (http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/incident-at-ruby-ridge).
Bob started the Faas/Schmidt Family reunion which has grown into other related lines and happens in Mossyrock WA each year.
Bob was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
