Gladys E. Ashlock Greathouse, 87, of Independence, Mo., passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at The Villages of Jackson Creek in Independence with her family at her side. Gladys was born the seventh of 12 children to San and Minnie Ashlock in Humansville, Mo. She married Kenneth Greathouse on Feb. 17, 1945. They recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary with friends at the Villages of Jackson Creek. Gladys was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening as long as her health permitted. Gladys is survived by her husband, Kenneth of Independence; son, Kenneth Greathouse, Jr. and his wife Vicki of Lee's Summit, Mo.; grandsons, Scott Greathouse and his wife Jessica and Todd Greathouse and his wife Kristy; great-grandchildren, Schylar, Olive, Violet, and Evan Greathouse; sister, Bonnie Stovall and her husband Ray of Humansville. Funeral services for Gladys Ashlock Greathouse will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at Murray Funeral Home in Humansville with burial to follow in the Plum Grove Cemetery near Dunnegan.
