Mrs. Asa Hoag, formerly Miss Mattie Williams, daughter of John M. Williams, after a painful illness of about three weeks, died at the home of her father on Tuesday morning at 2 o'clock in the twentieth year of her age.
About a year and a half ago she was led to the altar a happy bride, with everything desirable to live for. She is gone, and her husband, her father, and her sister, Mrs. Allen Downing, are nearly prostrated with grief. All Ancram mourn and sympathize with them. A year ago this month the mother died. Truly they are an afflicted family. Mrs. Hoag was a member of the M.E. church and also one of the choir.
Funeral services in the M.E. church Thursday, Rev. Ladd officiating. Interment in Evergreen cemetery at Pine Plains.
