Funeral Set For Doctor

Funeral services for Dr. Wilson D. McNary, ex-superintendent of the Eastern Oregon state hospital and ex-president of the Pendleton Round-up, will be held Tuesday at 2:30 P.M. in the chapel of J. P. Finley & Son, Bishop William P. Remington of Pendleton officiating. Vault entombment will be at Riverview cemetery mausoleum.

Dr. McNary died Friday in a Portland hospital after a protracted illness. He would have been 70 next Thursday. He and Mrs. McNary made their home at 2435 River road, Milwaukie.

Dr. McNary was born at Klickitat, Wash., April 15, 1873, but had lived in Oregon since 1976. He received his elementary school education at Salem and was graduated from the Vanderbilt university school of medicine in 1894.

He married Edna Hubbard of Salem in June, 1904.

Dr. McNary served from 1894 to 1906 on the staff of the state hospital at Salem before taking charge of the Pendleton institution when it was opened in 1912. He was superintendent there until his retirement May 1, 1941.

He was president of the Pendleton Round-Up for six consecutive years, resigning in 1939. He was ex-president of the Pendleton city planning commission and was a member of the Rotary club and the Elks and masonic lodges.

Pall bearers will be Dr. J. P. Brennan, Jack Dant, Roy Bishop, Major Robert McNary, Roy Clark and Ted Holmes.
