April 29, 2005:
Shawnee resident Albert S. "Toby" Bugg, 87, died Wednesday, April 27, at his residence.
Bugg was born Sept. 14, 1917, in Tribbey to John Henry Bugg and Mary E. (Shirley) Bugg.
On Oct. 24, 1936, he married Nora Burch.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego and Oakland, Calif. Bugg retired from Amoco in 1978.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Shawnee and was a Mason.
Bugg was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Nora Bugg, of the home; three children, Mary Lee Moon and her husband, Virgil, of Oklahoma City, Carolyn Kennedy and her husband, Mike, of Norman, Sue Brown and her husband, Don, of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Jean Lathrop of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Leta Skaggs and the staff of Heartland Hospice.
Service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Resthaven Funeral Chapel in Shawnee with Dr. Paul Calmes officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Resthaven.
