Margaret was born to Vinton and Thelma Copeland in Kelso, Washington. After spending a few years living on the Toutle River at the base of Mt. St. Helens, her family moved to Portland, Oregon.

She married Ervin Jarvis on Sept. 25, 1949 and they spent many years together in Vancouver, WA, and then Seattle ares where she worked for and then retired from AT&T. Ervin preceded her in death in 2003 after which she moved back to the Portland area to be near family. Margaret was an avid bowler for all of her adult life, always chasing the perfect game and trying to corral her wicked curve.

Preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Lee, she is survived by her children, sons Michael and Rodney Jarvis, daughter Valerie Shewell, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and by her sister, Betty Farrell.
