Oldtown, MD - John William Loar, 51, of Oldtown, MD, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at his home.
Born July 28, 1961, in Baltimore, MD, Mr. Loar was the son of the late Robert "Bob" Loar and Ellen (Anderson) Loar.
A graduate of Keyser High School, John was a United States Naval Veteran with ten years as an Electrical Specialist formerly employed at Cannondale Bicycle Corporation, Bedford PA.
John was a member of the Lonaconing V.F.W. John is survived by his wife of five years: Heidi J. Loar; his sons: Jeffrey Loar and wife, Sarah; and Garrett Loar, all of Cresaptown, MD; and his stepson: Daniel Miltenberger, San Diego, CA. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Kathryn and Jett Loar; his brother: Robert Loar, Cumberland, MD; his sisters: Debbie Loar and friend, Sonny Lowery; and Mary Jane Davis and husband, Paul, all of Grantsboro, NC; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Sunday, April 21, 2013, from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, Saint Patrick's Catholic Church Site on Monday, April 22, 2013, at 10:00 A.M., with Father Bernard Finerty, O.F.M. Cap., as celebrant.
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
