Amy M. Long was born on April 6, 1914 in Malmo, MN where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Aitkin High School in Aitkin, MN. Amy worked for two years as a nanny in Minneapolis, MN, before returning home to care for her father.
She married Lawrence Erickson on September 4, 1937 in Malmo. They farmed in Cambridge, MN until 1946 when they moved to Wheatland. They farmed in Wheatland until retiring in 1968. In November of 1993 they moved to the Fargo-Moorhead area. Lawrence passed away on November 3, 1997.
Amy especially enjoyed spending time crocheting, reading, playing and listening to music and visiting with family and friends. She always looked forward to "afternoon coffee" with family and friends. Amy was always ready for a trip and had the opportunity to visit family in Sweden.
Amy was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, two grandchildren, son-in-law, Edward Kays, sister-in-law, Patricia Long, three brothers, Walter, Gottfred and Carl.
She is survived by one son, Dennis (Sandy) Brainerd, MN; three daughters, Marion Kays, Emerado, ND, Cathy (Tim) Lee, Grand Forks, ND and Corinne (Don) Nustad, Moorhead, MN; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Irene Long, Isle, MN and Margie Long, Aitkin, MN.
Visitation: Wednesday, June 13, 2007 from 5 to 8 in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND with a prayer service at 8 and one hour before the service in the church.
Funeral: Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in Lutheran Church of the Cross, West Fargo, ND.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
