Jesse G. Nace, of Hanover, entered into God's eternal rest June 21, 2013. He was the loving husband of Arlene M. (Miller) Martz Nace, with whom he celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on August 18, 2012. He was also the husband of Kathryn A. (Coble) Nace, who died in 1987.

Born May 13, 1927, in York, he was the son of the late William and Alverta (Cramer) Nace.

Jesse was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from York Saw and Knife as a sawsmith after 46 years of service. Jesse also enjoyed working as a barber from his home for many years.

He was a member of Starview U.C.C. in Mount Wolf and was a life member of West York VFW Post 8951; Shiloh American Legion Post 791; Hanover Amvets; Hanover Eagles; and New Oxford Social Club.

Throughout his life Jesse enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Arlene, Jesse is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Kreeger and husband, Paul of Manchester, and Wanda Nace and partner, Gail of East Petersburg; a son, Joel Nace and wife, Jenny of Dover; four step-daughters, Deborah Strausbaugh and husband, Amos of Abbottstown, Melanie Gallagher and husband, Ben, and Diane Martz, all of Hanover, and Connie Myers and husband, Jim of New Oxford; three stepsons, Jeffrey Martz and wife, Sara of Hanover, Joseph Martz of York, and Gregory Martz and wife, Bonnie of New Oxford; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; and three brothers, William Nace of York, Robert Nace and wife, Janice of Craley, and Donald Nace and wife, Betty of Dover. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn; three sisters; and four brothers.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jesse's funeral at 11 a.m., June 27, 2013, at Emig Funeral Home, Dover. There will be viewings from 6 to 8 p.m. the 26th and from 10 to 11 a.m. the 27th at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Suburban Memorial Gardens in Dover, where veteran's honors will be presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Laura Bair.
