Delores Irene (Dee) Perry died peacefully April 13, 2013 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri surrounded by family.

Dee was born April 29, 1931 in Springfield, Missouri to Kenneth and Beatrice (Watts) Borthick who preceded her in death along with her sister Billie Musselman.

Dee will be missed greatly by Bill, her loving husband of almost 60 years, her children Steven and wife Sharon of Kansas City, Robert and wife Linda of Palos Verdes, California, and Cynthia Perry Azma and husband David of Fresno, California.

Dee was an incomparably devoted grandmother and will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Andrew (and wife Jennie), Alex, Caroline and Camille Perry and Madeline and Emily Azma.

Dee grew up in Joplin, Missouri and graduated from Joplin High School, Class of 1949.

Dee and Bill met in Joplin and married there on July 11, 1953. Dee and Bill raised their family in many homes and made many life-long friends over the years in Kansas City, Atlanta, Memphis, Mission Viejo, California, and finally Syracuse, New York, before moving back to Overland Park, Kansas upon Bill's retirement in 1983 to be near family and friends.

After returning to the Kansas City area, Bill and Dee spent many happy summers at their second home at the Lake of the Ozarks and many winters enjoying the sunshine and warmth in Palm Springs.

Dee was an avid golfer and tennis player and was very active until slowed down by illness.

Dee's greatest joy was any time spent with her family and she took great pleasure in family gatherings to celebrate holidays or milestone events when all of her children and grandchildren could be together around her.

Dee was a long time member of Heritage United Methodist Church, 12850 Quivira Road, Overland Park, Kansas.

Visitation will begin at the church at 9:30 a.m. on April 22 followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Internment will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Children's Mercy Hospital, as Dee loved children of all ages. Donations may be made online at www.childrensmercy.org or to Children's Mercy Hospital, Resource Development, 400 Pershing Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64108.
