Livonia, Livingston County, New York.
Friday, August 21, 1896

Mr. Charles Jackman one day last week laid an egg on the editor's table that weighed a quarter of a pound.

In the "Lima Recorder." Is Mr. Jackman alive yet?

In the "Geneseo Democrat."

Now there is no doubt that the Democrat's response is good. Any one can see that; and the more the editor himself thought about it, the funnier it appeared to him. In fact he became so fascinated by his joke that he had the article inserted twice in the same paper. It will be published again next week and the week after that, so none of the Democrat's readers will have an excuse for not seeing it.
