Phillip Howes Sears a well-known Boston lawyer, died at his home at 85 Mt. Vernon Street on Sunday.

After graduating from Harvard in '44 he took his A. M., and in '49 was graduated from the Harvard Law School. He was a tutor in the College in 1848-49, and served on the Board of Overseers from 1859-65.

He served in 1860 and 1861 as a Representative in the Massachusetts Legislature.
