V. Allein Davis Butts, 83, of Emporia, Kansas died on April 16, 2013 at Emporia Presbyterian Manor.

Allein was born on January 9, 1930 in Winfield, Kansas, the daughter of David Paul and Gladys Viola Ziegler Smith. She married Glenn Gordon Davis on June 1, 1952 in Winfield, Kansas. He died on October 26, 2006 in Emporia. She later married Marvin Leon Butts on December 1, 2007 in Shawnee, Kansas. He died on May 10, 2010 in Emporia.

Surviving family members include two daughters, Kelley Dial and Lisa Longcor, both of Emporia; stepdaughters, Janice Butts of Shawnee, Kansas, and Gail Lohmeyer of Osage City, Kansas; stepson, Phil Adamson of Burden, Kansas; grandchildren, Jessica Sauer of Emporia, Aron Johnson of Mission, Kansas, Storm and Jaxon Dial of Emporia, and LaJoy Longcor of Emporia; ten step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Javen Arndt, and Michayla Sauer; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a brother, Dale Smith; and a sister, Jonita Hart.

Allein was a teacher in Hartford, Elmdale, Americus, and in Emporia at Walnut Elementary for more than twenty years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Rejoice Evermore Church in Emporia, First United Methodist Women, Beta Sigma Pi, and Retired Teachers.

Allein was a fun-loving, generous, and caring person who brought joy to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, April 19, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Emporia. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Emporia.

A visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M.,Thursday evening, April 18, 2013 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Memorial contributions to Emporia Christian School may be sent in care of the funeral home.
