Mrs. Clyde Vernice Royal Higgins, age 83, of Millers Creek died Friday, April 19, 2013 after a extended illness.
She was born April 6, 1930 in Wilkes County to Winford and Hallie Royal.
She worked 28 years at Holly Farms on the main line. She was a member of Mountain Valley Baptist Church in Millers Creek.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willard F. Higgins, her parents, one infant son Larry Wayne Higgins, an infant daughter Brenda Higgins, one grandchild James Finley Higgins Jr., one great grandchild and daughter-in-law Lisa Higgins.
Mrs. Higgins is survived by two daughters, Dare Hall of McGrady and Shiela Green of Millers Creek. Three sons, Jim Higgins and wife Cathy of Boomer, Michael Higgins and wife Nancy of Millers Creek and Mark Higgins of Millers Creek. Nine Grandchildren, Michael Higgins Jr. (Pete) and wife Cindy, Alan Higgins, Shawn Higgins, Ashley Greene,and Randall Greene all of Millers Creek. Monica Hawn of North Wilkesboro, Wesley Hawn of Moravian Falls, Matthew Higgins of Boomer and Sandra Lancaster of Taylorsville. Eighteen Great-grandchildren and two step Great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Adams Funeral Home of Wilkes Chapel with Pastor Derrick Brown and Pastor Scott Frazier officiating. The Family will receive friends from 1:00P.M. until 1:45 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mountain Valley Baptist Church Cemetery .
