OTTAWA - Mrs. Myrtle Iva Schroeder, 71, Ottawa, died Thursday (March 16) at an Ottawa hospital where she had been a patient since Feb. 27. She had been ill a years.
She was born April 14, 1900 southeast of Overbrook and was graduated from Overbrook High School. She attended Kansas State Teachers College and Pittsburg State Teachers College.
Mrs. Schroeder taught schools for many years in Kansas and Nevada. She also worked 9 years at the Montgomery Ward Store in Ottawa.
She had lived in Ottawa since 1952.
She was married May 23, 1929 at Georgetown, Utah to Frank Schroeder, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother.
Mrs. Schroeder was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Ottawa and the Retired Teachers Assn.
She is survived by a son, Wally Schroeder, Ottawa, and 3 grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at the Albright-Roberts Funeral Home at Overbrook with burial in Appanoose Cemetery southeast of Overbrook.
